MotoGP Spanish GP Free Practice 1 – The first free practice session of the Spanish Grand Prix MotoGP class, the first race of the 2020 Top Class post Covid-19, saw the riders take to the track with 40° temperatures on the asphalt, a temperature destined to rise significantly in the afternoon session.

The fastest of this first round was Marc Marquez, who set the best lap of 1:37.350. The #93 of the Repsol Honda Team is ahead of his Yamaha compatriot Maverick Vinales, trailing by just 24 thousandths.

Excellent third time for Cal Crutchlow. The Team LCR rider, still looking for a saddle for the 2021 season, lapped in 1:37.438, putting his Honda RC213V ahead of Andrea Dovizioso's Ducati, with the Forlì native currently not suffering from the collarbone he underwent surgery a few weeks ago ago (he had fallen during a regional Motocross race, ed.).

Fifth and sixth times for Joan Mir's Suzuki and Jack Miller's Team Pramac Ducati. The two precede Alex Rins on Suzuki and the KTMs of Pol Espargarò, Iker Lecuona and Brad Binder.

Back are Franco Morbidelli, Valentino Rossi and Francesco Bagnaia, who occupy twelfth, thirteenth and eighteenth position respectively. The “Doctor” has a gap from the top of 0.768s, while Bagnaia is at +0.966s.

Danilo Petrucci is suffering from neck pain and after the crash during the tests he didn't go beyond the twenty-first time. The rider from Terni had slipped at high speed on the oil left on the track by Aleix Espargarò's Aprilia.
