Monster Yamaha MotoGP GP Czech Republic Brno 2020 – Valentino Rossi, after starting from the fourth row in the Czech Republic Grand Prix, the third round of the 2020 MotoGP post Covid-19, was the author of a good comeback in Brno, which took him to the finish line in fifth position and close to the podium.

The “Doctor” paid for a difficult qualifying and a first part of the race in the big group, which made him lose contact with the leaders.

The positive news is that also in Brno the setting dusted off in Jerez paid off and the Pesaro driver was able to ride hard, especially when braking.

At the end of the race Rossi congratulated the rookie and winner Brad Binder (KTM) and his student Franco Morbidelli, on his first podium in MotoGP.

Statements Valentino Rossi setting Yamaha GP Czech Republic Brno MotoGP 2020

“I'm happy, Yamaha changed the setting at the end of 2018, but it was very similar to that of 2016. With the new one made to safeguard the tire I couldn't find it and so I pushed to go back, while Maverick (Vinales, ed.) and Quartararo got along well straight away. Now we have returned to a more classic, standard Yamaha.”

Statements Valentino Rossi GP Czech Republic Brno MotoGP 2020

“In qualifying we made the mistake of using the medium tire instead of the hard, perhaps I would have managed to start one row ahead and perhaps I could have fought for the podium. We have made great progress in braking, I can brake hard. Even today, as in Jerez, I braked hard in the important braking sections, this allows me to be faster even in the phase after braking, something I wasn't able to do with the old setting. It was a positive weekend, I enjoyed the race, I was able to ride well until the finish line. I was able to attack and recovered positions. Starting from the fourth row is very difficult because everyone is going fast.”

Valentino Rossi statements on Franco Morbidelli GP Czech Republic Brno MotoGP 2020

“Franco had a great weekend, in all the tests he was fast and had a great race. He deserved the podium for a long time. I think it will be very competitive from now until the end of the year. The Riders Academy is a huge reality, especially for Italian motorcycling. We have made some great results since the beginning of the year in all classes. Franco and Pecco (Bagnaia, ed.) are going very strong, we are training hard, there is a good atmosphere between us. We are not only working for the track, but we are also helping them become men. And then the added value is that they help me, the training is less boring, we have fun together and they make me feel younger."

Valentino Rossi statements on Brad Binder GP Czech Republic Brno MotoGP 2020

“Binder is an animal, even in the minor classes he has done incredible races, he is a very strong guy who drives in the Australian style, a bit of oversteer and uses the rear brake a lot. He has a very modern ride for the MotoGP of now. We also have to say that the KTM would have finished first and second today, because even Pol (Espargarò, ed.) had a good push if he didn't touch Zarco. I think they will also be strong in Austria and these two are the favourites. Let's hope they get a lot of points straight away (laughs, ed.) so then they won't have any more concessions and won't do any more tests than us."

There are many riders now who are going strong. In my opinion you wouldn't have taken a chance for the lowest step of the podium.

With ifs and buts you don't get to the podium…. For that, the person in front needs to have some faults, see the previous race

Tonykart you are terrible as always, save the criticism for when it goes badly, if you criticize Rossi for yesterday's race what should you say about Vinales and those who finished behind?

I can't understand the fact that at every GP Vale has to say that he didn't get to the podium due to something. Now he has the bike the way he wants, but there is always a hitch that limits him, never once does he say that he didn't get to the podium because his rivals were faster.
I have never read similar statements expressed by Dovizioso (for example).
Sunday came close to Zarco for two main reasons, at least in my opinion:
    1) Zarco suffered a penalty which made him lose at least 3 seconds and from the images it is clear that he was not at fault, Espargaro was wide, Zarco was in the normal line, at the moment of contact they were practically side by side and it is only in a similar circumstance, had Zarco been able to brake, he himself would have fallen, but they decided like this and this is the result, from a safe second place he had to settle for third.
    2) Since the penalty, Zarco no longer pushed as before, trying to at least take home the podium, but if he hadn't been punished, the race would have been different.
Despite these two aspects (visible from the times), the doors to the podium would have been open for Vale if... And here there is always an if, without having to mention Quartararo's unfortunate race, Marc's absence and the almost chronic problem of the official Ducatis, no longer able to compete at high levels due to the tires (but it is not possible to access to the 2019 tires?)

This, essentially, is the thing that bothers me about Vale's statements, he claims that he should be considered more than he actually is and he only does so based on statements that are not supported by lap times.

Will we ever hear Valentino say that whoever finished in front of him was faster and better?

My hope is only one, that Ducati understands how to use the new tire, then we'll see where Vale will position himself in the GP standings and I'm curious to read the next excuse.
When it was Biaggi who made excuses (and I've never liked Biaggi), everyone gave him credit, now that Vale is dishing out the same trick, no one to say anything except those who don't see him as an immense rider who came down to earth to delight us in his motorcycling exploits.

    Great Dovizioso
    Great Ducati

I add a very great Zarco

I'm not criticizing him for yesterday's race, in my opinion he's poor as he has been for years now, last race too he was poor only that thanks to the misfortunes of others he got on the podium and this time not despite the gap from the first in seconds is similar to last time, maverick is second in the world championship until proven otherwise....
