MotoGP eSports – The series of virtual MotoGP events ended with the Silverstone GP. After five events totaling 10 virtual races, including two full prizes, Dorna Sports' virtual race series for MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3 and MotoE is now over.

64 riders from 48 teams took part in the four categories, including riders of the caliber of reigning champion Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team), nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) and returning Jorge Lorenzo as a wild card by winning at Silverstone.

The final ranking saw Alex Marquez win the "title" with 86 points against the 79 of our Francesco Bagnaia, the 71 of Maverick Vinales, the 61 of Fabio Quartararo and the 57 of Marc Marquez. Let's remember that the drivers alternated and some ran a few races.

The virtual racing series saw the creation of over 3.100 pieces of digital content, generating over 10 million interactions. Content posted on virtual races generated 331 million impressions and 52 million video views, including 12 million fans who attended the events live. In total, more than 31 million minutes of video were consumed which, incredibly, is the equivalent of 60 years of non-stop viewing.

The Red Bull Virtual Grand Prix of Spain was even more than a Virtual Grand Prix, as riders battled it out in aid of MotoGP's official charity, Two Wheels for Life. The charity has launched a campaign aiming to raise money for their vital work fighting coronavirus on two wheels, ensuring the delivery of test results, education and equipment to hard-to-reach communities to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and other dangerous diseases in South Africa.

Now we await the start of the "real" races, with the MotoGP which should start on July 19th in Jerez, where it should also take place the following week. In total there should be 12 races, including a double in Misano.
