KTM MotoGP World Championship – Dorna and KTM have extended the contract which provides for the presence of the Austrian manufacturer in MotoGP until at least 2026. The announcement was made by Dorna Sports and the signature was made by the CEO of KTM AG, Stefan Pierer and by the CEO of Dorna Carmelo Ezpeleta.

The Mattighofen company will also be present in Moto3, also with the Husqvarna brand as well as supplying bikes for the Northern Talent Cup and the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. It will instead exit the Moto2 class, where it will no longer supply frames. Let's remember that in the Moto2 class the engine is Triumph.

Statements Stefan Pierer, CEO of KTM AG

“It is a strategic vision to be in the MotoGP class and we want to boost Moto3 where we are one of the leading brands. We also see the return of Husqvarna as an excellent opportunity.”

Statements Pit Beirer, KTM Motorsport director

“It's fantastic to continue in 'sixth gear' on this path. MotoGP and Moto3 are the main platforms and thanks to the excellent work and experience of Aki (Ajo, ed.), we can maintain a connection with Moto2 while significantly reducing our presence as frame builders in this class. We believe great emotions and satisfaction will come."

Statements Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports

“I am proud to see KTM renew its commitment to MotoGP for another five years. We are very happy with our relationship and KTM shares our vision for the future of the championship. Since they arrived in MotoGP they have impressed everyone with their dedication. We are thrilled to have such a large starting grid and each manufacturer is a cornerstone of the success of our sporting events.”
