MotoGP | Thailand GP Day 1: Valentino Rossi, "Strong on the fastest lap, but race pace needs improvement" [VIDEO]

MotoGP GP Thailand Yamaha MotoGP Day 1 – Valentino Rossi, after announcing yesterday the change of technical leadership for the 2020 season (Silvano Galbusera will make way for David Muñoz, ed.) closed the first day of testing for the Thai Grand Prix in fifth position.

The “Doctor” is 0.329s behind the day's leader Fabio Quartararo, category rookie and his brand mate. Rossi said he was quite satisfied with the "dry" lap, while there is still room for improvement in the race pace, here's what he had to say.

“We were strong and fast, especially when we put on the soft tires for the time-attack, the bike worked very well. In terms of race pace we suffered a little more. Our rivals are very strong, so we have to work, especially to make the right choice for both the front and rear tyres. In terms of time-attack, as mentioned, we are fast, while in terms of pace the fastest are Marquez, Dovizioso, Miller and Rins and I'm definitely forgetting someone."
