MotoGP GP Australia – After Marc Marquez's success in Japan, the MotoGP starts again immediately: next stop is Phillip Island for the Australian Grand Prix.

Marquez's dominance in Japan also marked the end of the assignment of the constructors' title to Honda, a goal that the Spaniard achieved essentially alone. However, for a Spaniard who confirms himself, there is a young Frenchman who is eager. Fabio Quartararo is proving race after race to be a fearsome opponent for the future, not only for the world champion but also for his brand mates, above all Maverick Vinales. As for Valentino Rossi, the bad period continues and the next races will be decisive to understand whether or not to continue in the future and considering the results of the other Yamaha riders, perhaps being able to return to the podium would be fundamental.

For Ducati a separate chapter is needed. The Phillip Island track isn't exactly the most loved by the red team, but some good things have come out of it in recent years. Everything will depend on how much Andrea Dovizioso is willing to risk and above all when Danilo Petrucci finally emerges from the crisis in which he has been plunged since returning from the summer break. The Australian GP also represents a great return, Johann Zarco will be on track with the Honda of the LCR team after the forced break, replacing Takaaki Nakagami.

If these issues are not enough to convince us to get up early, we must remember that the championship in Moto2 is still open and that in Moto3 our Lorenzo dalla Porta has a 47 point lead in the standings and the next races will be fundamental.

Phillip Island GP weather

Currently the weather forecast is not very reassuring. In addition to low temperatures, heavy rain is expected throughout the weekend.

Info Australian GP

The Phillip Island track measures 4.4 km and has 7 left-hand corners and 5 right-hand corners. The circuit was built in 1956 and hosted the Australian Grand Prix in 1997. Last year the winner was Marc Marquez, after a race of 'sports with Johann Zarco, Valentino Rossi, Maverick Vinales and many others. The undisputed king of the Australian track is Casey Stoner, here the home driver achieved 6 consecutive victories and 6 poles. Same number of victories in MotoGP also for Valentino Rossi, but the Pesaro native can also boast a victory in 500, but only 1 pole. Of the active riders, Marc Marquez is the one with the most poles, 4.
