MotoGP GP Austria Red Bull Ring Free Practice 2 -Marc Marquez wins the second free practice session of the Austrian Grand Prix, eleventh stage of the 2019 MotoGP world championship.

The second free practice session transformed in the last minutes into a real qualifying with the majority of the drivers taking to the track with new tires to secure a place in the top ten. Today, getting into the top ten was essential given that it could rain tomorrow in FP3.

The Honda rider stopped the clock at 1:23.916, preceding Maverick Vinales by 66 thousandths and his brand mate Takaaki Nakagami by 155.

Fourth time for Fabio Quartararo who precedes Jack Miller and a surprising Miguel Oliveira riding the KTM of the Tech3 team.

Over 4 tenths separate Danilo Petrucci from the top. The rider from Terni finished seventh, ahead of Cal Crutchlow and Andrea Dovizioso. The rider from Forlì suffered a crash at the end of the session while he was improving, fortunately without consequences. Pol Espargarò completes the top ten.

Valentino Rossi, outside the top 10 by a tenth and therefore at risk of Q1, finished eleventh ahead of Francesco Bagnaia, 13th, and Franco Morbidelli, 14th. Only 18th Andrea Iannone
