MotoGP | Austrian GP Day 1: Vinales, “Better than last year” [VIDEO]

MotoGP GP Austria Red Bull Ring Yamaha MotoGP Day 1 – Maverick Vinales closed the first day of Free Practice for the Austrian Grand Prix, eleventh stage of the 2019 MotoGP, with the second time.

The Spanish driver immediately started very fast right from FP1, which ended with the third fastest time. In the afternoon the #12 improved further, closing just 66 thousandths away from the best overall performance.

“The feeling was very positive. We worked a lot on the bike, trying to understand in which direction we need to go. I think we found something good to improve my pace, but we still need to improve. We lost first place, but I feel positive. Being second in FP2 here is really good for us, this is a track where we suffer a lot. This year seems to be going better, so we are positive and try to continue to improve things tomorrow. We're trying to be at the front of the line and then we'll see. Today we tested the tires and we have more or less ideas for tomorrow, so we will work very hard.”
