MotoAmerica – Tragedy in the MotoAmerica Championship, United States Superbike Championship where, among others, our Danilo Petrucci also races.

50-year-old Scott Briody has died due to injuries sustained in a qualifying crash at Brainerd International Raceway.

Briody was racing in the Stock 1000 class and the accident occurred during the first qualifying session on Friday afternoon.

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Scott Briody,” said Chuck Aksland, COO of MotoAmerica. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, his team and the MotoAmerica paddock.”

Also Danilo Petrucci, former MotoGP and winner of a stage in the Dakar (the only rider in history to have won both a race in MotoGP and a stage in the desert, ed.) and from this year in MotoAmerica riding the Ducati of Team Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati NYC Team intervened.
