Moto3, Irta Jerez Test Day 3: Maverick Vinales the fastest of the "morning session"

Maverick Vinales (in the MotoGP.com photo) set the best time in the first session of Day 3 in Jerez, where the IRTA tests of the Moto2 and Moto3 classes are being held. The Team Calvo rider in fact stopped the clock at a time of 1:46.603, putting his KTM ahead of that of his compatriot Alex Rins, rider of the Team Estrella Galicia 0'0 and trailing by just under half a second. Behind the two Iberian riders we find Jonas Folger's Kalex KTM.

The German rider of Team Aspar who lapped in 1:47.238 precedes another KTM, that of the Spaniard Luis Salom, rider of Team Red Bull Ajo, the team that won the world championship last year with the German Sandro Cortese, who passed this year in the Moto2 class. Miguel Oliveira was the one to break the dominance of the KTM-powered bikes, taking his Mahindra to fifth position with a time of 1:48.335.

Eric Granado, Brazilian rider last year with the JiR Moto2 Team, did well. The Team Mapfre Aspar Team Moto3 rider is in fact sixth ahead of Alex Marquez and Alexis Masbou, while the first of the Italian riders is Alessandro Tonucci, ninth with the Honda of Team Lafonte Tascaracing. The former Team Italia rider precedes the South African Brad Binder, who closes the Top Ten with his Suter Honda of Team Ambrogio Racing.

The other Italians are Romano Fenati, sixteenth with the FTR Honda of San Carlo Team Italia, Niccolò Antonelli, twentieth with the FTR Honda of Team GO&FUN Gresini Moto3, the latter's team-mate Lorenzo Baldassarri twenty-fourth, Francesco "Pecco" Bagnaia, twenty-seventh with the second FTR of San Carlo Team Italia and Matteo Ferrari, thirtieth with the FTR Honda of Team Ongetta-Centro Seta.
