As usual, the Moto3 class offered a great show, amplified by the presence of Italian colors in the top positions, thanks to Enea Bastianini, who was a great protagonist until the finish line. The Team Gresini rider ran an aggressive race, it's not for nothing that his team renamed him "Beast", finishing third behind the Hondas of the Spaniards Alex Rins and Alex Marquez.

Bastianini was the protagonist of a fall on the lap of honor, when he was rear-ended by Karel Hanika. Fortunately he suffered no consequences and it should also be remembered that he is still limping due to the fracture of his right heel suffered in free practice in Brno. A race to forget for Romano Fenati, who was unable to score points, finishing sixteenth.

In the world rankings he now sees his opponents far away. In the lead is Miller (today sixth) with 179 points against Alex Marquez's 166, Alex Rins' 150 and Efren Vazquez's 145. The player from Ascoli is stuck at 135.

Race report

The Moto3 class riders are ready to take part in the last race of the day at Silverstone, after those of Moto2 and MotoGP. In fact, the British Grand Prix requires the minor class of the world championship to start last. Best performance for Alex Rins (Honda), at his third pole of the season. In the front row with him our Niccolò Antonelli, on KTM of Team Gresini and Alex Marquez, teammate of Alex Rins in Team Estrella Galicia 0.0.

Second row for Enea Bastianini, riding the second KTM of Team Gresini, for Brad Binder's Mahindra and for Aleixis Masbou's Honda. Third row for world championship leader Jack Miller, who achieved the eighth fastest time and will have next to him the Mahindra of the Portuguese Miguel Oliveria (seventh fastest) and the KTM of Isaac Vinales (eighth fastest).

Qualifying to forget for Romano Fenati, who will be forced to start from the eighth row, having only obtained the twenty-second time. His team-mate Francesco Bagnaia, eighteenth, Matteo Ferrari, nineteenth and Andrea Migno, twenty-first in his debut on the Mahindra on a permanent basis in the world championship did better than him. Alessandro Tonucci and Andrea Locatelli, both on Mahindra, the former from Team CIP and the latter from Team Italia, finished in twenty-fourth and thirtyth position respectively. All ready, 17 laps to go for 100.3 km. The traffic lights go out, the fastest at the start is Alex Rins, who started ahead of Bastianini, Marquez, Antonelli, Miller, Binder, Masbou, Oliveira, Ajo and Kent. Francesco Bagnaia and Romani Fenati are in seventeenth and eighteenth position.

Efren Vazquez falls, a hard blow to the morale of the Spanish Honda rider, who was in third place in the world rankings. The first lap ends with Rins in the lead ahead of Marquez, Miller, Antonelli, Bastianini, Masbou, Binder, Ajo and Oliveira.

Compact group, as per tradition in the Moto3 class. Bastianini moves ahead of Antonelli, the #33 renamed "Bestia" by Team, and goes in search of the top positions, despite the fact that he still has pain from the right heel fractured in Brno.

Romano Fenati also makes up ground, but given his starting position he is still far from the leaders. Meanwhile, Bastianini is giving life to a no holds barred fight with the Hondas of the Spaniards Rins and Marquez and on the 4th lap he attacks and takes the lead of the race. The Team Gresini driver is fighting like a lion, but the race of the Portuguese Miguel Oliveria is also great, as he takes the top positions on the Mahindra.

We have reached the halfway point of the race, there are only four left fighting for the victory: Bastianini, Oliveira, Rins and Marquez. The fifth, Jakub Kornfeil, is almost two seconds behind. Niccolò Antonelli "travels" in eleventh position, while Fenati is still outside the points zone. Scott Deroue breaks the bike and therefore Fenati becomes fifteenth and would therefore gain a point.

Last two laps of the race, it's a four-way battle for success. Bastianini takes the lead at the start of the last lap, but the Hondas regain the lead. Final corners, Rins wins ahead of Marquez and a great Bastianini, who incredibly, while congratulating Rins, was hit by Karel Hanika, with the consequent fall, which seems to have had no consequences.
