Moto3 Silverstone, FP3: Weather protagonist, Fenati at the top

Silverstone GP Moto3 Free Practice 3 – The third and final free practice session of the Moto3 class at Silverstone saw the riders take to the track with a wet track given the rain that had fallen since the early hours of the night and a temperature of only 17.2°.

As the laps went by, the track gradually dried out and at the end of the session the fastest was Romano Fenati, riding the Team Marinelli Rivacold Snipers Honda.

In the final laps and on slicks, the rider from Ascoli stopped the clock at a time of 2:20.880 and preceded his compatriot from Team Aspar, Lorenzo Dalla Porta, by 2.671.

Third time for the Czech Jakub Kornfeil, who preceded the world leader Joan Mir, with the latter riding the Leopard Racing Honda.

Britain's John McPhee is fifth and ahead of Spain's Juanfran Guevara and Tom Booth-Amos. Closing out the Top Ten are Nakarin Atiratphuvapat, Jake Archer and our Marco Bezzecchi. Tom Booth-Amos and Jake Archer are two wiled cards both from Team City Lifting KTM who usually race in the British Motostar Championship.

The two standard bearers of the Sky Racing Team VR46, Andrea Migno and Nicolò Bulega occupy the twelfth and fourteenth position respectively, divided by Fabio Di Giannantonio, riding the Team Gresini Honda. Enea Bastianini is sixteenth. Nineteenth time for the rookie Tony Arbolino, rider of the SIC58 Squadra Corse Team.

Of note are the falls of Albert Arenas and Jaume Masia, both resolved without consequences. The qualifying appointment is set for 13pm Italian time.
