Moto3 Sepang, Free Practice 2: Miller ahead of Vazquez, Fenati is fifth
Niccolò Antonelli is instead in eighth position with the FTR Honda of Team Gresini
Jack Miller set the fastest time (2:15.598) in the second free practice session of the Moto3 class in Sepang. The session started quietly due to the rain that fell after the Moto2 free practice, but then the track dried out thanks to the high temperatures.
The Australian from Team Caretta Technology – RTG (riding an FTR Honda) precedes the Spaniard Efren Vazquez on Mahindra by 693 thousandths and the Frenchman Alexis Masbou on the FTR Honda of Team Ongetta-Rivacold by 698 thousandths.
The German Jonas Folger is fourth and ahead of the best of the Italian riders, Romano Fenati from Ascoli, riding the FTR Honda of San Carlo Team Italia. The next rider of the Team born from the collaboration between Valentino Rossi and Sky precedes Alex Rins, Isaac Vinales and Niccolò Antonelli, on FTR Honda of Team Gresini.
Closing out the Top Ten are Miguel Oliveira and world championship leader Luis Salom, on Team Red Bull Ajo's KTM. The other Italian drivers are Matteo Ferrari 18th, Francesco Bagnaia 19th, Alessandro Tonucci 23rd and Lorenzo Baldassarri 25th. Ana Carrasco, the only representative of the fairer sex on the track, is in 21st position.
