GP Malaysia Sepang Moto3 Race – Joan Mir wins the Malaysian Grand Prix, 17th stage of the 2017 Moto3 class MotoGP World Championship.

The Leopard team driver managed to win in the three-way battle against: Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini. The new world champion of the cadet category (title won in the previous race in Australia) started from pole and was surprised at the start of the race by Jorge Martin's sprint, who led the race for ten laps.

Once he reached and passed the Gresini team rider, Mir was unable to "escape", and Enea Bastianini also joined the fight for victory. With 2 laps to go the Leopard team driver breaks the delay and starting to "hammer" he breaks away from his pursuers.

Thus he achieved the eleventh victory of his career in Moto3, the tenth of the season. Behind him were Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini, with the Estrella Galicia team driver trying in every way to pass the Spaniard until the last corner.

Fourth position for Livio Loi (Leopard) who, after trying to keep up with the leaders, was unable to close the gap.

Group race for the furthest positions, with the Italians: Migno, Fenati and Di Giannantonio, fighting for fifth position together with McPhee and Bo Bendsneyder. In the end the Scottish driver closed the group in the lead, followed by Andrea Migno (Sky Racing Team VR46), in sixth position, and Romano Fenati (Marinelli Rivacold Snipers). Behind the rider from Ascoli, Aron Canet (Estrella Galicia) preceded Fabio di Giannantonio (Gresini) and Bo Bendsneyder (KTM Ajo).

Manuel Pagliani (Mahindra CIP) scored points and finished in fifteenth position. His teammate, Marco Bezzecchi, finished in nineteenth position, while Tony Arbolino (SIC 58 Squadra Corse) finished twenty-second.

Fall for Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Mahindra) and Niccolò Antonelli (KTM Ajo). Nicolò Bulega (Sky Racing Team VR46) was forced to retire with a technical problem a few laps from the end.
