German GP Moto3 Race – Joan Mir wins the German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring. The Leopard team driver thus wins his fifth victory of the season, and further increases his lead in the standings. In second position, Romano Fenati (Marinelli Rivacold Snipers).

The rider from Ascoli, author of an extraordinary race, was ultimately unable to resist the Spaniard's attack. Marco Ramirez, Platinum Bay Real Estate, completes the podium. First career podium for the Spanish driver who finished just 97 thousandths from second place.

Off the podium was Nicolò Bulega, who after having fought with the leaders throughout the race, was eventually forced to give up.

In sixth position, 8 seconds behind the Sky Racing Team driver, Philipp Oettl followed by Enea Bastianini (Estrella Galicia) and Livio Loi.

Eighth place was Bo Bendsneyder (KTM Ajo) followed by Tatsuki Suzuki (SIC58 Squadra Corse), while the Japanese teammate, Tony Arbolino was the victim of a high side a few laps from the end while he was fighting with the leaders.

Darryn Binder completes the top ten, preceding Fabio di Giannantonio.

In points Marco Bezzecchi (CIP) who finished 15th, preceding Andrea Migno and Lorenzo Dalla Porta, 19th. Behind the Mahindra driver, Manuel Pagliani (CIP).

The world ranking now sees Mir in the lead with 165 points against Fenati's 128, Canet's 110, Martin's 89 (currently absent after his crash in practice) and Fabio Di Giannantonio, at 85 points.

Race report

Canet and Mir started very well from the front row, with Bulega lagging behind. Great shot by Arbolino from the second row. Ramirez did well and immediately chased Mir, passing him before the end of the lap. At the end of the first lap, behind the two Spaniards, Fenati and Arbolino.

Before the end of the second lap, Fenati takes the lead in a battle with Mir. Behind them Bulega joins the leading group. at the end of the third lap the leading positions remained unchanged, behind them, Bastianini 9th, all the other Italians outside the points zone.

On the next lap Mir takes the lead, overtaking Fenati together with Ramirez. Behind them, Bulega and Arbolino are slightly further behind.

With 21 laps to go, Bulega manages to recover the small gap, while Arbolino remains slightly behind, with an open fight for first position up front. Behind them, the group of 18 riders battled for sixth position.

With 19 laps to go, there is an open fight in the leading group, 5 riders within a few thousandths of a second.

With 17 laps to go, Mir's first breakaway attempt, which detaches Ramirez and Fenati. Behind them Bulega and Arbolino also lose a few meters. In the following laps Mir's escape attempt fails, and behind him Fenati remains in the fight. Behind them, Bulega and Arbolino also return to the group for the podium. The pursuers remain trailed by more than 6 seconds in the group: Bastianini 6th, Canet started from pole 13th, Di Giannantonio 16th.

With 12 laps to go Fenati takes the lead of the race, but the fight with Mir is relentless, with Bulega behind them with a delay of around 4 tenths. In the meantime, a slip for Aron Canet, an ok rider but a hard blow for the world championship.

With 9 laps to go, Fenati remains in the lead, followed closely by Mir and Ramirez. Arbolino and Bulega lose ground. Then the fall without consequences for the Sic58 Squadra Corse team driver.

With 6 laps to go it's now a 3-way fight between Fenati, Ramirez and Mir. After the fall of Arbolino, Bulega lost further ground. Behind the Sky Racing team driver there are 8 seconds before reaching the pursuers. Bastianini remains 6th, while Migno and Bezzecchi remain at the foot of the points zone.

On the last lap Fenati takes the lead, trying to gain meters on Mir and Ramirez. But the Spaniards don't give up.

In the end, Joan Mir won the German Grand Prix ahead of Romano Fenati and Marcos Ramirez.
