Moto3 2015 German GP Race – Danny Kent dominated the Moto3 class German Grand Prix, taking his fifth victory of the season. The world championship leader let his opponents vent and then pulled away to win alone. On the podium were his team-mate Efren Vazquez and our Enea Bastianini, who got the better of his compatriots Romano Fenati and Niccolò Antonelli, great protagonists of a small group made up of 10 riders who were fighting for the podium.

With this victory Kent extends their lead in the championship, reaching 190 points against the 124 of Enea Bastianini and the 102 of the Portuguese Miguel Oliveira, absent today after the hand injury which occurred on Friday and which has already undergone surgery on the metacarpal. Fenati reaches 99 points, three points ahead of Vazquez.

Race report

The riders of the Moto3 class are ready to compete in the German Grand Prix, the ninth event and turning point of the 2015 world championship. Yesterday, world leader Danny Kent obtained pole position despite a fall, riding the Leopard Racing Honda . Our Enea Bastianini should also have started on the front row with the second time, but he was penalized by three positions together with 10 other drivers (including team-mate Andrea Locatelli), for having broken the regulations during qualifying. The riders are accused of having obstructed other riders by remaining in line at reduced speed, also creating a dangerous situation.

Bastianini will therefore start from the second row, while Andrea Locatelli will start from the third, together with Niccolò Antonelli (who climbs two positions while remaining in the same row). To recap, Kent (Honda), Hanika (KTM) and Quartararo (Honda) will start from the front row. Vazquez (Honda), Bastianini (Honda) and Martin (Mahindra) from second, Antonelli (Honda), Binder (KTM) and Locatelli (Honda) from third. Romano Fenati (KTM) will start from the fourth row (12th time), while Francesco Bagnaia with the Mahindra from the seventh. All ready, twenty-seven laps to go for 99.117 km. The traffic lights go out, the fastest at the start is Karel Hanika, who started ahead of Vazquez, Kent and Bastianini. Niccolò Antonelli is eighth, Andrea Locatelli ninth and Romano Fenati fifteenth. Ono falls immediately, rider ok.

The first lap ends with Kent in the lead ahead of Vazquez, Bastianini, Hanika, Binder, Martin, Quartararo, Antonelli and Locatelli. He attacks Bastianini at the waterfall and takes the lead of the race. The top positions continue to change, Binder is now in command, ahead of Kent and Bastianini. Fenati recovers a few positions and is thirteenth.

After three laps we find Kent still in the lead, with Bastianini now behind Vazquez. Antonelli is seventh, while in front Kent and Vazquez try to make an attack. The Leopard Racing duo seems to be able to pull ahead, while rookie Fabio Quartararo falls. Francesco Bagnaia also withdraws, riding the Mahindra of Team Aspar, due to a technical problem for him.

In this morning's warm up Antonelli showed a great pace, inferior only to Kent. The Team Ongetta Rivacold rider moves to third position, but Hanika, Binder and Bastianini don't give up on him. At the moment, Antonelli, Binder, Hanika, Bastianini, Navarro, Masbou and Martin are fighting for the third position on the podium. Fenati, 10th, doesn't seem to be able to return at the moment.

We have reached the halfway point of the race, Kent increases his lead over team-mate Efren Vazquez, now over three seconds, while Antonelli leads the group fighting for the podium. The Team Ongetta Rivacold rider seems very determined to achieve the first podium of his career. Romano Fenati is also going strong, now one of the fastest on the track. Bad fall for Kappler, fortunately no consequences for the rider.

Fenati turns very fast, he has almost caught up with the group that is fighting for the last position on the podium. The Sky Racing Team VR46 driver made a great comeback and is now ninth. Kent continues to run very well, the world championship leader would go on to win the fifth race of the year, which would propel him even further towards the title. His team-mate Efren Vazquez is almost seven seconds behind, while Bastianini, now third, is over eleven seconds behind.

Last five laps of the race, the Team Leopard duo is still firmly in the top two positions, but ours are great protagonists in the fight for the podium. Meanwhile, Suzuki falls, rider ok.

Great maneuver by Romano Fenati, who passes Bastianini and Binder with an outside trajectory! Masterpiece from the Sky Racing Team VR46 driver, who is now even behind Antonelli. Fenati passes Antonelli, with the latter arriving slightly wide after contact with Binder. Maria Herrera and Ana Carrasco fall, with the latter "taken" by her compatriot. The races of the two girls from the world championship end here.

Let's go back to the fight for the third position on the podium, Antonelli has made up for it, Bastianini passes, he wants the podium! Kent meanwhile goes on to win the fifth race of the year, Vazquez is second, while Bastianini is on the podium! Fenati and Antonelli follow.
