Moto3 Rio Hondo: fifth and sixth row for Niccolò Antonelli and Enea Bastianini

Looking at the final ranking of the Moto3 qualifying session, it may seem that today was not the best for the Gresini team.
The two pilots were in fact classified fifteenth (Niccolà Antonelli) and seventeenth (Enea Bastianini).
For Antonelli this is a slightly anomalous position compared to previous races, but a fall at the start of the session kept him in the garage for a long time while his mechanics did everything possible to allow him to return to the track. Tomorrow the race will be uphill for him, we'll see what happens.
A different story however for Enea Bastianini, who achieved his best position in the standings here, in his third career race in the world championship. The rookie of the Gresini team is however a little disappointed, but he hopes to be able to have a good race tomorrow and collect points.

“Unfortunately at the start of the qualifying session I made a mistake and crashed after hitting a rider in front of me.” he explains sincerely Niccolo Antonelli “The bike was very damaged, but the team did a fantastic job allowing me to restart: unfortunately there was very little time left and I wasn't able to achieve what I wanted. I'm not happy, it's clear: I hope I can go better in the race tomorrow. I always trust in a good placing, even if it won't be easy."

“On the one hand I am happy, because I improved the position obtained in the qualifying of the first two Grands Prix; on the other hand, however, there remains a bit of disappointment because we knew we could do much better" he said bastianini "I had decided to push hard in the last two laps, but unfortunately I encountered a lot of traffic. Furthermore, the bike did not behave as it did in the last free practice session. I continue to struggle in the last sector, T4, where I have difficulty especially closing the line at turn 11. We will try to improve tomorrow morning, in the warm up, after which if I manage to get a good start we can have a good race and collect some points ”.
