Moto3 Phillip Island, Free Practice 2: Maverick Vinales ahead of Folger, Antonelli fifth

Better weather conditions compared to FP1 were the setting for the second free practice session of the Moto3 class at Phillip Island, the third to last stage of the 2013 world championship. Nineteen degrees in the air, thirty-three on the asphalt, for a session that saw Maverick Vinales excelled, stopping the clock at a time of 1:38.198.
The Team Calvo rider preceded Jonas Folger's Kalex KTM by just 22 thousandths and a positive Zulfahmi Khairuddin by 26 thousandths, riding the Team Red Bull Ajo KTM, who did not take part in his home GP in Sepang last week due to the wrist injury he suffered in Aragon.
Fourth time for the world championship leader Luis Salom, who precedes our Niccolò Antonelli, who confirms the fifth place obtained this morning in Free Practice 1. The Team Gresini rider precedes the Mahindra of Miguel Oliveira, the KTM of Alex Rins (who crashed without consequences at the end of the session) the South African Brad Binder, the Finn Niklas Ajo (who also crashed without physical damage) and Alex Marquez (brother of Marc, leader of the MotoGP world championship) who closes the Top Ten.
Romano Fenati, with the FTR Honda of San Carlo Team Italia is thirteenth, while the other Italians are Lorenzo Baldassarri fifteenth, Francesco Bagnaia twentieth and Matteo Ferrari twenty-eighth. Eighteenth time for Ana Carrasco, the only representative of the fairer sex on the track and in the points in the last Sepang race.
