Moto3: Niccolò Antonelli “I can't wait to race at Silverstone to confirm the progress of the last race”
The Gresini rider arrives on a track where he has never raced, but still aims to be with the leaders
Niccolo Antonelli after the good comeback in the Catalan GP, he is ready to take to the track at Silverstone, a circuit where he has never raced and which until now he has only seen on television. The Gresini team driver really wants to get on track because in the last race he demonstrated that he has the pace of the leaders, recovering 13 positions in a short time and if he didn't start so far back he would certainly have played the podium.
Antonelli said: “The Catalan weekend was beautiful from day one. We managed to do an excellent job which allowed us to have the pace of the best in the race. At the start I lost important positions which I managed to recover very quickly and was the fastest on the track. For over half the race I really enjoyed myself and if it hadn't been for a banal technical problem I would have perhaps recovered other positions. It's a shame but I'm still happy because I proved I can be fast like the top of the class. Silverstone is a new circuit for me and therefore on Friday I will have to concentrate on trying to learn the trajectories of the track as soon as possible. I have already tried to understand something from the television images of last year and it seems to me that Silverstone is a nice, very varied circuit with fast corners, tight corners and "tough" changes of direction. I can't wait to get on the track.”
