Moto3 Motegi, Free Practice 1: Kent in the lead, Bastianini is fourth
The British rider precedes Isaac Vinales and Juanfran Guevara, Fenati is fifteenth
The first free practice session of the Moto3 class Japanese Grand Prix went to Danny Kent. The British rider of Team Red Bull Husqvarna Ajo stopped the clock with a time of 1:57.611, ahead of KTM Spaniard Isaac Vinales by 0.453s, who in turn precedes his compatriot Juanfran Guevara, riding the Team's Kalex KTM Aspar.
Fourth time for our Enea Bastianini, who until a few minutes before the end of the session was leading the time table. The Tam Gresini rider is ahead of the Hondas of Alex Rins and Alex Marquez and the KTM of world leader Jack Miller.
Eighth place for the Mahindra of Portuguese Miguel Oliveira, followed by the Honda of Efrwn Vazquez and his brand mate Brad Binder. A crash without consequences for Niccolò Antonelli, who finished twelfth, while Francesco Bagnaia and Romano Fenati, both riding Team Sky VR46 KTMs, were in fourteenth and fifteenth position respectively.
The other Italians are Matteo Ferrari nineteenth, Andrea Migno twenty-first, Alessandro Tonucci twenty-fourth and Andrea Locatelli thirty-second.
