Moto3 Indianapolis, Free Practice 2: KTM domination with Cortese and Kent
First of the Italian drivers is Romano Fenati, fourteenth
Sandro Cortese set the best time in the second free practice session of the Moto3 class of the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix, the eleventh stage of the 2012 world championship, tenth for the smaller class which, like Moto2, did not race at Laguna Seca.
The world championship leader stopped the clock at a time of 1:49.307, 126 thousandths better than that set by his team-mate Danny Kent, the fastest in the first free practice session.
Behind the KTM duo of Team Red Bull Ajo we find the Portuguese of Suter Honda Miguel Oliveira and three Spaniards, in order Maverick Vinales (Blusens Avintia – 1:49.694), Luis Salom (RW Racing GP 1:49.827) and Alex Rins ( Estrella Galicia 0,0 – 1:49.986). Seventh is Jonas Folger, making his debut with the Kalex KTM of Team Aspar. The German driver who lapped in 1:50.356 preceded his teammate Hector Faubel, the Frenchman Louis Rossi and Adrian Martin, who closes the Top Ten.
First of the Italian riders is Romano Fenati, fourteenth with the FTR Honda of Team Italia FMI. The others further back with Niccolò Antonelli 19th and crashing without physical consequences, Alessandro Tonucci 24th, Luigi Morciano 26th, Armando Pontone 30th and Riccardo Moretti 32nd.
