After Jerez and Valencia, Team Aspar was on track in Cartagena today, to take advantage of all the time available before the winter break. The first day went very well from a weather point of view, and Francesco Bagnaia continued his chemistry with the Mahindra, which he will drive next year instead of the KTM he had this season.

The Team's objective is to evaluate the material provided by Mahindra for the next season. Bagnaia completed 80 laps, pushing hard to be as reliable as he was. A lot of data has been collected, which will be used to improve performance during the winter. The 2015 chassis was also tested, and the former Team Sky VR46 driver said he was enthusiastic.

“The weather was fantastic today and we were able to complete no less than 80 laps. We understood that it wasn't necessary to change too many things on the bike, because I like the setup we found – said Francesco Bagnaia – Even if I don't like the circuit, I'm happy to have maintained a good pace throughout the day. There aren't too many references in terms of times to be able to make comparisons, but we'll see what the others do tomorrow. The new engine offers excellent performance and responds well. This day of testing was positive to check its reliability. We haven't made big changes to the chassis, because I like it as I already said in Valencia.”
