Moto3 | Australian GP FP1: Troubled round for the lightweight class, the fastest is Martin [Video]

MotoGP GP Phillip Island Free Practice 1 – The weekend of the Australian Grand Prix, the seventeenth stage of the 2018 MotoGP world championship, got off to a bad start.

During the Italian night, the Moto3 took to the track first, but just after a few minutes the session was stopped.

Before the start of the session the rain had 'flooded' the track, but the 'blow' came after the engine failure on Stefano Nepa's KTM, which flooded the track with oil.

Given the large quantity of oil on the circuit, which also caused Marco Bezzecchi's fall, the race direction decided to display a red flag in order to clean up the track. This caused a delay of more than two hours compared to the scheduled times.

At the end of 45 minutes, plus the two hours of interrupted session, Jorge Martin recorded the best time, stopping the time at 1:38.841.

Behind the Spaniard from the Gresini team: Marcos Ramirez, the Honda of Aron Canet (Estrelle Galicia) and Tony Arbolino (Marinelli Snipers).

Fifth time for John McPhee (CIP) who preceded Tatsuki Suzuki (SIC58 Squadra Corse), Enea Bastianini (Leopard) and Albert Arenas (Angel Nieto).

Marco Bezzecchi (PruestelGP) crashed twice during the session. The first time due to the oil, the second due to a mistake after the red flag. Fortunately both falls without consequences. He finished ninth.

Fabio Di Giannantonio (Gresini) finished tenth after the bad fall in Japan.

Out of the ten were Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Leopard), who finished twelfth fastest, ahead of Andrea Migno (Angel Nieto), 17th, and Dennis Fossi (Sky Racing Team VR46), 18th.
