Moto3: Enea Bastianini will try to get on track at Le Mans
The Team Gresini rider fractured his right wrist on April 27th
Moto3 Gresini Racing – Enea Bastianini, recovering from a fracture to his right wrist which occurred on April 27th while training on a motorbike, will try to take to the track at Le Mans, the fifth round of the 2016 world championship.
After the operation, Honda's #33 underwent numerous physiotherapy sessions with the specialists of the Mobile Clinic, with the aim of quickly regaining good wrist mobility. The final decision on his participation in the Grand Prix will be up to the circuit doctors.
“I will be at Le Mans, where on Thursday I will undergo the necessary medical examination to receive the OK to race. I want to get on the track, but we also don't want to take unnecessary risks: if I get the OK I will first of all try to understand how I will feel on the bike and consequently we will decide whether to continue the weekend – said Enea Bastianini – If the conditions are right to get a good result we will try, otherwise it is better to give up. Obviously it would be a shame, because Le Mans is a track where I have always been very fast in the last two years. This year I'd like to repeat myself, but this inconvenience has made everything more complicated... In any case, the important thing is to try, always!”
