Moto3 2016 Team Gresini – Enea Bastianini returned to the track at Misano after missing the French Grand Prix due to an injury to his right wrist, which occurred while training on his motorbike on April 27th.

The Team Gresini rider tried to regain confidence with his Honda NSF250RW in view of the next Italian Grand Prix, scheduled for next Sunday on the splendid Mugello track. The eighteen-year-old completed 20 laps, preferring not to force the word.

“It was nice to get back on the bike, even if honestly I struggled a bit to ride: especially in the braking sections of the right-hand corners, when I start to lean the bike, my arm starts to hurt and therefore I wasn't able to be as fast as I would have wanted. I therefore only did a few laps to find an optimal riding setting in view of Mugello and I stopped, because in these conditions it is also difficult to understand the behavior of the bike well and work on the set-up. I could certainly have done more laps and improved, but it would have been useless to strain my arm and risk not arriving in good shape at Mugello."

Also on track was his team-mate Fabio di Giannantonio, who completed 80 laps. “I'm happy because we did quite a few laps and since the morning I had a good feeling with the bike on this track, which I already knew very well. We tried many set-up solutions in preparation for Mugello and each time we were always quite fast and this is also positive. At Le Mans I suffered a drop during the race, so we also worked a lot on the pace, carrying out runs of over 10 laps to better understand the behavior of the bike over distances. Now I feel I have even more feeling with the bike, so we arrive at Mugello recharged!”
