Moto3 Austin, Qualifying: Pole Position for Jack Miller, Antonelli is fifth
Eighth time for Romano Fenati, while Alessandro Tonucci is 11th
Jack Miller obtained the pole position of the Grand Prix of the Americas, the second stage of the 2014 world championship. The Australian KTM centaur achieved it with a time of 2:16.342, a new track record. This is the first pole position for him in the Moto3 class, which follows the victory in Qatar.
Also on the front row are Honda's Spaniards Efren Vazquez (Team SaxoPrint-RTG) and Alex Rins (Team Estrella Galicia 0,0). Alex Marquez, Rins' team-mate, will open the second row. The Honda rider will have our Niccolò Antonelli (KTM of Junior Team GO&FUN) alongside him, who despite a fall managed to grab fifth position. With them the KTM of Jakub Kornfeil's Team Calvo.
Third row for the Frenchman Alexis Masbou, for our Romano Fenati (recovering after a really difficult last free practice session) and for Isaac Vinales.
Immediately outside the Top Ten we find Alessandro Tonucci. Fourteenth position instead for Francesco Bagnaia (Fenati's team-mate in the SKY Racing Team VR46), twenty-first for Enea Bastianini (riding the second KTM of the Junior Team GO&FUN), twenty-third for Andrea Locatelli (Mahindra Team Italia) and twenty-ninth for his team -mate Matteo Ferrari.
