Moto3: Ana Carrasco arrives
She will be the first woman to race in the smallest category of the world championship
Ana Carrasco will join Maverick Viñales in the KTM JHK Laglisse team in 2013. The sixteen-year-old Spaniard took to the track in Almeria on Wednesday for a test as a reward for the good season just concluded in the CEV, but the qualities demonstrated and the ability to lowering her best time on this track by 1 seconds convinced the Madrid-based team to focus on her by making her sign the contract immediately.
“I am really happy with the opportunity given to me by Jaime Fernández Avilés and my sponsors. Making my debut in the world championship is every rider's dream, I didn't expect it and I'm really excited about it. I can't wait to start testing and do the first race. In Spain I didn't try the official KTM but the sensations I had with the standard bike were good and I feel satisfied. The chassis is very different from what I was used to and allowed me to lap a lot faster."
