Moto3 | GP Valencia FP3: Yamanaka at the top, Foggia is fourth

Moto3 Valencia GP Valencian Community Free Practice 3 – Ryusei Yamanaka won the third and final free practice session of the Grand Prix of the Valencian Community in the Moto3 class, the 20th and final stage of the 2022 MotoGP scheduled for Sunday in Valencia.

The MT Helmets – MSI Team rider took his KTM to the top with a time of 1:38.482, just 0.055s ahead of his teammate Ivan Ortolà (KTM MTA) and his team-mate Diogo Moreira by 0.103s.

Dennis Foggia riding the Team Leopard Honda achieved the fourth fastest time ahead of World Champion Izan Guevara (GasGas Aspar) and the latter's team-mate, Sergio Garcia.

Xavier Artigas with the CFMoto of Team PruestelGP is seventh, ahead of Tatsuki Suzuki (Honda Leopard) and the winner of the Malaysian Grand Prix John McPhee (Husqvarna Max Racing Team).

Closing out the Top Ten is David Salvador, who replaces the injured Stefano Nepa on the Team MTA KTM, at home recovering from the operation on a fractured tibia and fibula in Sepang.

Daniel Holgado (KTM Red Bull Ajo), Carlos Tatay (CFMoto PruestelGP), Deniz Oncu (KTM Tech 2) and Riccardo Rossi (Honda SIC3 Squadra Corse) also qualified for Q58.

They will have to pass through Q1 among others: Ayumu Sasaki, the wild card Filippo Farioli, Andrea Migno, Nicola Fabio Carraro, Elia Bartolini, Alberto Surra, Jaume Masia and Kaito Toba.

The latter two were negative protagonists at the end of the session. Masia entered "strong" on Toba and both ended up on the ground. Once they got up, the Japanese gave the Spaniard a slap on the helmet, with the Red Bull Ajo driver reacting badly, replying and putting on a truly unworthy spectacle. A penalty is expected for both.
