Moto3 GP Austria Race – An incredible Ayumu Sasaki won the Austrian Grand Prix in the Moto3 class, the 13th stage of the 2022 MotoGP championship held on the Red Bull Ring circuit.

The Max Racing Team driver, despite a double long lap penalty for the events at Silverstone (he was actually 24th when he returned to the track, ed.), made an unthinkable recovery given the penalty, recovering position after position, returning to the lead 11 laps from the end and no longer leaving the command.

On the podium were Tatsuki Suzuki with the Honda of Team Leopard and the rookie of Team KTM BOE, David Munoz. At the foot of the podium was the Turkish Deniz Oncu (KTM Tech 3), who fought for third position until the last corner.

Further behind but satisfied in terms of the Championship Sergio Garcia (GasGas Aspar), fifth and ahead of the rookie Diogo Moreira (KTM MT Helmets -MSI), team-mate Izan Guevara, another rookie, Daniel Holgado (KTM Red Bull Ajo) and John McPhee (Husqvarna Max Racing Team). Tenth at the finish line Kaito Toba riding the Team CIP KTM.

Colorless race for Silverstone winner Dennis Foggia. The Team Honda Leopard rider was never a protagonist and finished 12th, behind Ivan Ortolà (KTM MTA) and ahead of Ryusei Yamanaka (KTM MT Helmets -MSI). Also scoring points were Xavier Artigas with CFMoto and our Stefano Nepa (KTM MTA).

The other Italians were behind: Riccardo Rossi (Honda SIC58 Squadra Corse) who started from the second row finished 19th, Elia Bartolini (KTM Avintia) 20th, Andrea Migno (Honda Snipers, penalized with a long lap penalty for a contact with Carlos Tatay, ed. ) 23rd, Nicola Fabio Carraro (KTM Avintia) 26th and Alberto Surra (Honda Snipers) 27th.
