Moto3 | GP Aragon FP1: Sasaki in command, Foggia is ninth
Second and third times for Izan Guevara and Xavier Artigas
Moto3 Aragon Free Practice 1 – Ayumu Sasaki set the best time in the first free practice session of the Aragon Grand Prix at Motorland, 15th stage of the 2022 MotoGP.
The Japanese driver of the Max Racing Team took his Husqvarna to the top with a time of 1:58.819, preceding the GasGas of Izan Guevara's Team Aspar by 0.266s.
Third time for Xavier Artigas' CFMoto, followed by the KTMs of Joel Kelso (CIP), Daniel Holgado (Red Bull Ajo) and Kaito Toba (CIP).
Sergio Garcia with the second GasGas of Team Aspar is seventh, ahead of Deniz Oncu (KTM Tech 3) and our Dennis Foggia, Honda Leopard rider, winner at Misano. David Munoz (BOE) closes the Top Ten.
Also in provisional Q2 were John McPhee (Husqvarna Max Racing Team), Jaume Masia (KTM Red Bull Ajo), Andrea Migno (Honda Snipers) and Carlos Tatay (CFMoto).
Riccardo Rossi with the Honda of Team SIC58 Squadra Corse is 17th, Alberto Surra (Honda Snipers) 19th, Stefano Nepa (KTM MTA) 22nd, Nicola Fabio Carraro (KTM Avintia) 26th, Elia Bartolini (KTM Avintia) 30th and the wild card Alessandro Morosi (KTM MT Helmets – MSI) 31st.
