Moto3 | Gp Le Mans Race: Italian double with Vietti and Arbolino
Arenas completes the podium and returns as world championship leader
Moto3 GP France Race – Celestino Vietti wins the French Grand Prix, tenth stage of the 2020 MotoGP. For Vietti it is the second victory of the season after the one obtained in the Styrian GP.
The Sky Racing team VR46 driver, after a waiting race in the leading group, waited for the penultimate lap to take command of the race and open a small gap from his pursuers. Tony Arbolino (Honda Snipers) tried to keep up, but forced to be on the defensive he finished second ahead of world leader Albert Arenas (KTM Aspar).
Jaume Masia (Honda Leopard) was mocked as he, after starting from pole and leading most of the race, had to settle for fourth place, ahead of a revived Andrea Migno (Sky Racing Team VR46), Ayumu Sasaki and Raul Fernandez.
Gabriel Rodrigo (Honda Gresini) finished eighth, ahead of Ai Ogura (Honda Team Asia) and Carlos Tatay who completed the top ten.
Dennis Foggia (Honda Leopard) finished thirteenth, ahead of Riccardo Rossi and Stefano Nepa. Race to forget for Romano Fenati, knocked out by teammate Alonso Lopez in the Max Racing Team.
The world championship is still led by Albert Arenas who has a six point lead over Ogura. Thanks to the victory, Celestino Vietti moves into third position with just 16 points, while Arbolino is fourth at -20.
