Moto3 | Gp Brno Race: Foggia, first world championship success, Antonelli is fourth
Arenas and Ogura on the podium
Moto3 GP Czech Republic Brno Race – Dennis Foggia won the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic, the fourth round of the 2020 Moto3 world championship.
The Leopard Racing rider, after waiting for the first stages, took the lead of the race and went on to win ahead of world leader Albert Arenas (KTM Team Aspar) and the Japanese Ai Ogura (Honda Team Asia). First career success for Foggia.
Niccolò Antonelli came close to the podium after a beautiful comeback, riding the Honda of Team SIC58 Squadra Corse and finishing just a few tenths behind Ogura.
John McPhee's comeback was also good, as he finished fifth on the Team Petronas Honda, ahead of pole man Raul Fernandez, who was losing speed on the straight compared to the Hondas.
Closing out the Top Ten are Jeremy Alcoba (Honda Gresini) and our Romano Fenati (Husqvarna Max Racing Team), Tony Arbolino (Honda Snipers) and Stefano Nepa (KTM Team Aspar).
Arbolino himself was in contention for the victory until a slightly over the top Arenas touched him, relegating him to the back of the group fighting for success.
Sky Racing Team VR46 drivers Celestino Vietti and Andrea Migno finished in thirteenth and fourteenth position in the points.
A race to forget for Tatsuki Suzuki (SIC58 Squadra Corse), who crashed while he was in contention for the victory. In the world championship standings Arenas reaches 70 points against 52 for Ogura and 51 for McPhee. Foggia is sixth with 32 points and is the best of the Italians.
