Moto3 | Darryn Binder signs with Team Petronas

Moto3 2021 World Championship – Darryn Binder has signed a contract with Team Petronas and in 2021 he will race with the Malaysian Team Honda in the Moto3 class.

The South African rider (brother of Brad, KTM MotoGP rider, ed.) entered the Moto3 championship in 2015 after racing in the Red Bull Rookies Cup. After a difficult first season, Binder made progress and despite injuries in 2017, he was able to consistently go points. Here are his words and those of Johan Stigefelt.

“I am really happy to join Petronas Sprinta Racing. I was super excited when the opportunity came and I think together we have great potential and a great package to work with. I feel we can do a great job and we can have a bright future. Personally, I think this is the best opportunity to take the last step to continuously be among the first. Our goal will be to fight for the top positions in every race.”

“I'm really happy to have signed Darryn for next year. We have seen that he is an aggressive, talented and good driver, especially in the race. This is the type of guy we want to work with, the one who wants to take the next step in his career and the type of driver you want to have on your team. The goal is to stay in front. Firstly he will have to adapt to Honda and we want him to feel comfortable in the team, as we have done in the past with other riders.
