Moto3 | GP Aragon FP1: Suzuki in the lead, Migno is fourth
Bad high-side for Celestino Vietti, taken to the Mobile Clinic for checks
Moto3 GP Aragon Free Practice 1 – The riders of the Moto3 class opened the MotoGP race weekend as usual, this time at the Motorland of Aragon, scene of the fourteenth stage of the 2019 season.
Absent are the injured Niccolò Antonelli (SIC58 Squadra Corse) and Romano Fenati (Team Snipers), who were replaced respectively with Davide Pizzoli and Jose Julian Garcia. We remind you that Antonelli had suffered a fracture in his left wrist, while Fenati had suffered a fracture in his scaphoid, also on the left.
The fastest of these FP1s was Tatsuki Suzuki (Honda), who set the best lap with a time of 1:58.987.
The winner of Misano (first success in his career, ed.) and rider of the SIC58 Squadra Corse Team was the only rider to lap under the "wall" of one minute and 59 minutes. Behind him is his brand mate, 0.253 behind him. John McPhee (Team Petronas), with the Briton in turn leading the Spaniard Jaume Masia (KTM WWR) by 0.198s.
Andrea Migno (Masia's team-mate and who will race with the Sky Racing Team VR46 next year, ed.) is fourth and precedes Filip Salac, Gabriel Rodrigo, Marcos Ramirez and Aron Canet (Max Racing Team).
Ayumu Sasaki and Jakub Kornfeil close the Top Ten. World championship leader Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Honda Leopard) is 13th, while Tony Arbolino (Honda Snipers) is 15th, ahead of Dennis Foggia (KTM Sky Racing Team VR46).
Davide Pizzoli finished 25th, immediately behind Stefano Nepa, while Riccardo Rossi was 28th. Bad high-side at the start of the session for Celestino Vietti. The Sky Racing Team VR46 driver returned to the pits but then went to the Clinica Mobile for checks. He finished 30th with only 3 laps under his belt.
