As written in the previous news Julian Simon and Mike Di Meglio (Team Aspar riders) rode today in Valencia with the Honda BQR. While waiting to understand if they will continue with this project or if they will move on to something else (as already mentioned they will also try the Kalex-Pons, the Suter, and the RSV, a motorcycle developed by the Italians and Giorlandino and Drisali) they commented on the day as follows.

Julian Simon
1.37.91 (63 laps): “Today we worked on the adjustments to the bike's chassis. The truth is that everything is new, but we have gradually improved, managing to better understand the sensations that the chassis transmits. We thought the chattering I had three weeks ago might return when I last tried but I felt calmer during the session. We worked especially on the front fork, to gain confidence when braking. Towards the end of the session we tried a soft tire with a different casing and I think the time we achieved is more than decent. It's the first official test I've done and I'm very happy with the sensations of the four-stroke. We still have to improve in the corners, but I am satisfied with the progress we are making.”

Mike Di Meglio 1.39.30 (50 laps – in the photo): “Today was a difficult day for us because there were some problems with the gear changes and with the brakes. They were gradually resolved, but we lost precious time and I could not continue working. In terms of chassis, I felt less comfortable than the last time I tested the Moto2 here, but I think what we discovered at the end of the day can make us improve tomorrow. Then today I tried a new chassis setup and managed to improve my times, but I'm still far from a good pace, so we can't rest. I hope there will be good weather tomorrow too so we can work to better understand Moto2."
