GP Silverstone Moto2 Race – Takaaki Nakagami wins the British Grand Prix, twelfth stage of the 2017 MotoGP. Second career victory for the Japanese rider who will move up to the premier class next year.

Mattia Pasini (ItalTrans) tried until the end, but had to settle for second position ahead of world championship leader Franco Morbidelli (Marc VdS).

Fourth place for Thomas Luthi who loses further points to the Italian driver. Behind the Swiss, a trio of Italians led by Francesco Bagnaia (Sky Racing Team), Simone Corsi (SpeedUp) and an incredible Stefano Manzi (Sky Racing Team) who achieved the best result of his career.

Eighth place for Miguel Oliveira (KTM Ajo) who precedes Brad Binder (KTM Ajo) and Dominique Aegerter, who completes the top ten.

Luca Marini (Forward) narrowly dropped out of the ten, with a crash without consequences for his teammate, Lorenzo Baldassarri, who finished in 29th position.

Andrea Locatelli (Ital Trans) is out of the points and doesn't go beyond 21st position. The returning Alex De Angelis finishes 24th.

Pasini got off to a bad start from pole and found himself in sixth position after the sprint. Marquez takes advantage of this and takes the lead, followed by Nakagami and Morbidelli.

With 17 laps to go Morbidelli moves into third position, while Pasini gains 2 positions, reaching up to fourth position, behind Luca Marini.

On the following lap the attack comes from the rider from Riccione who moves into third position, in pursuit of Marquez and Morbidelli.

With 15 laps to go Marini loses positions, while Pasini is caught and passed by Nakagami who takes third position. In front, Marquez and Morbidelli take off. The gap between the first 2 is around 6 tenths, while the pursuers are over 2 seconds apart.

With 11 laps to go, after having closed the gap, Morbidelli begins the assault on his teammate, who responds immediately. But the fight continues throughout the lap.

The fight between teammates allows Nakagami to make up ground, while behind Pasini he continues to lose positions, first Luthi and then Oliveira, with the Portuguese arriving wide and having to give up the position.

With 8 laps to go, the twist. The race leader, Alex Marquez, falls. Slip without consequences, and pilot who manages to restart. Morbidelli takes advantage of this and takes the lead of the race, followed by Nakagami and Luthi.

With 7 laps to go Morbidelli lets Nakagami pass, who takes the lead of the race. Behind them, Pasini re-emerges, passing Luthi and moving into third position.

With three laps to go Matta Pasini also catches Morbidelli and moves into second position, with Morbidelli third ahead of Luthi.

In the end, Takaaki Nakagami won the British Grand Prix, ahead of Mattia Pasini and Franco Morbidelli.
