British GP Moto2 Free Practice 1 – The Moto2 class was the only one of the three classes that had to deal with the British weather this morning. In Free Practice 1 at Silverstone, with around 26 minutes remaining, the rain started to fall and the drivers returned to the pits.

Lorenzo Baldassarri (Kalex Forward Racing) was the "victim" of this rain, which caused his fall, which fortunately resolved without physical consequences.

Up to that point the fastest had been the home rider Sam Lowes (Team Gresini), who had stopped the clock at a time of 2'09.346. Followed by Thomas Luthi, Alex Marquez, Jonas Folger, Takaaki Nakagami and the world championship leader and reigning champion Johann Zarco.

Zarco himself returned to the track 12 minutes from the end of the session with rain tyres, but obviously the times were much higher, around 22 seconds compared to the dry ones.

Subsequently, other riders also took to the track, including our Luca Marini and Franco Morbidelli, with the latter crashing without physical consequences.
