Moto2 Sepang, Warm Up: Best time for Franco Morbidelli

GP Malaysia Moto2 Warm Up – The rain that fell during the night and the track that had not yet completely dried created "confusion" at the start of the warm up of the Moto2 class on the Sepang circuit, scene of the penultimate stage of the 2016 world championship.

The drivers took to the track with rain tires (someone risked a rain front and a rear slick) but after a few laps almost everyone returned to the pits to put on slicks. We remind you that the track has been completely resurfaced, but the new asphalt, despite providing more grip, struggles to dry, even despite the high Malaysian temperatures. There remain some visible wet patches, which are not the "best" both visually and in terms of grip.

In these conditions the best time was recorded by our Franco Morbidelli, who brought the Kalex of Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS ahead of everyone with a time of 2:09.750.

The VR46 Riders Academy rider preceded Jonas Folger and Takaaki Nakagami, respectively 0.439s and 0.532s behind.

Fourth time for Xavi Vierge, fifth for world championship leader Johann Zarco and sixth for Alex Marquez.

Axel Pons, Thomas Luthi, Hafizh Syahrin and Sam Lowes close the Top Ten. Lorenzo Baldassarri and Mattia Pasini occupy the thirteenth and fourteenth position while Luca Marini, Simone Corsi and Alessandro Nocco are in the twenty-fifth, twenty-sixth and twenty-seventh position.
