First victory in the rain for Alex De Angelis, who ran an attacking race today, then trying to extend his lead, an attempt which failed due to the rain. Alex was caught and overtaken by Rea and West, the red flag given due to rain established him as the winner. The word is up to him.

“Very difficult race, my first victory in rainy conditions but an extraordinary race from all points of view. The bike was going very well and the strategy chosen proved to be right: I attacked immediately on the first lap, took the lead then limited myself to controlling my rivals and saving the tires for the final. Towards the end, when the rain began to fall again, I managed to extend a bit but then the conditions became prohibitive and I decided to turn off the throttle. Shortly thereafter the race direction agreed with me by waving the red flag and putting an end to the race. It's the first win of the season and I think we really deserved it. A special thank you goes to the whole team, the sponsors, my family and friends who always support me and have faith in me. A year has passed and from here I send a warm greeting to Marco.”

I've been dreaming of you on the top step for a long time, you rode great. Excellent victory, well deserved. Now try if you can to solve the problems with this bike and continue like this until the end of the championship.. if I won the title next year you would make me happy, go Alex go, today you were super!!!

I remember Alex, still a child, on the podium of a Honda 125 trophy race in Varano in 1998, together with his older brother and the winner, he looks like Tresoldi to me; very long hair, without 4 front teeth, 50 meters tall, with a he had an enchanting mischievous look; from that moment on I have always supported him, and I don't understand why they never took him on in SBK where he would be a winner. Well done Alex!!!

I've always liked him a lot, I would have liked him to win in MotoGP but unfortunately he never found too much horsepower, maybe I don't know but the rider is strong and now that you make me think about it I could see him very well in Sbk battling with Rea Sikes and Biaggi..great observation VecchioL!!
