Moto2 – Preview Jerez – Julian Simon ready for his home race
Julian Simon arrives at Jerez, the second race of the 2010 season, with the intention of erasing the debacle of the Qatar GP. The Spanish rider from Team Aspar had in fact retired in the first race due to a clutch problem on his RSV Moto2. The Spanish fans will give him an extra boost. Here is his thought.
“Jerez is a circuit that I love and I want to finish on the podium. In the first race of the season we retired so for me it's as if the championship starts in Jerez this weekend. I know the circuit perfectly and we collected a lot of data with this bike during the pre-season. The postponement of the Japanese Grand Prix gave us the opportunity to continue working on the bike. I'm sure that the Spanish fans will give all the home riders an extra push, as they did for me last year when I was leading the race but unfortunately then crashed. The main objective is the podium although Qatar's withdrawal means we are forced to come away with points.”
