Moto2 Phillip Island, Free Practice 3: Rabat's dominance continues, Pasini is 12th
The world championship leader preceded Vinales and Kallio
Esteve Rabat set the best time in the third and final free practice session of the Moto2 class at Phillip Island. The world championship leader in fact stopped the clock at a time of 1:32.726, taking almost half a second off the Spaniard Maverick Vinales, the next Suzuki MotoGP rider.
Third time for Mika Kallio, who must counter the attacks of Rabat, his teammate, to keep the world championship open. The Swiss Thomas Luthi, riding the Suter of Team Interwetten, is fourth and ahead of the Frenchman of Suter Caterham, Johann Zarco.
Closing out the Top Ten are the Germans Sandro Cortese, Marcel Schrotter and Jonas Folger, the Swiss Dominique Aegerter and the Belgian Xavier Simeon.
The best of the Italian drivers is Mattia Pasini, twelfth with the Forward Racing Kalex. Lorenzo Baldassarri with the Suter of Team Gresini is eighteenth, while Franco Morbidelli with the Kalex of Team Italtrans finished in twenty-eighth position.
