No break for IodaRacing which, after the non-European race in Indianapolis, returns to Italy to face the second home race, the San Marino Grand Prix. Very close to the daily and nightlife of Rimini and Riccione, the Misano Adriatico Circuit, until 2006 called the "Santa Monica International Circuit", was inaugurated in 1972. A regular venue for Italian GPs between the 80s and 90s, this Gran Premio returned to the MotoGP calendar in 2007.

The memory of last year's race unfortunately goes to the accident which saw the death of the young Japanese rider Shoya Tomizawa, and which all the protagonists of the MotoGP World Championship and the Moto2 class remember fondly. The idea of building a circuit in this strip of the Romagna plain, so linked to motors, began in the early 60s and was designed and built under the aegis of Enzo Ferrari. From the year of its inauguration until today, the circuit has undergone numerous interventions: initially 3.488 meters long and equipped with small outdoor garages, today it has been increased to 4.226 meters, with 6 left-hand corners and 10 right-hand ones. In 2005, work was completed on the construction of a new access to the circuit which changed from Via del Carro to via Daijiro Kato, in memory of the Japanese driver who tragically died after a bad accident in the 2003 Suzuka Grand Prix.
Twelfth round of this 2011 season, it is an important race for Simone Corsi #3 and Mattia Pasini #75, who aim to put on a perfect weekend in front of their home crowd.

Simone Corsi #3
“I'm back on track after a race that unfortunately left a bad taste in my mouth. In Indianapolis there were all the conditions to have a good race and get on the podium: I was in the lead for a few laps, but then everything went in the opposite direction. We must continue to work to improve and perfect ourselves. This is the second home race we face and I hope to do well on Sunday in front of the Italian crowd."

Mattia Pasini #75
“This is my home race. I can't wait for the weekend to start and get on track in front of my fans. I hope to be able to work well, especially after the good results in Indianapolis and Brno. I worked a lot on myself and with the team we have developed a truly high-performance vehicle. I am increasingly focused and in the United States I demonstrated that with dedication and determination I can reach the top."
