Moto2 – Mugello Free Practice 2 – Sergio Gadea in first position
Rookie Sergio Gadea, Spanish rider for the Pons team, achieved the best time in the last Moto2 test session at Mugello in 1'56.244 with his Kalex. Gadea surprised everyone by leaving behind the former 125cc world champion Thomas Luthi, Moriwaki of the Interwetten team, separated by just 17 thousandths.
In third place is Andrea Iannone, fourth yesterday and competing at Le Mans with the Speed Up, best of the Italians managing to stay ahead of another former 125 world champion such as Mike Di Meglio (Suter of the Aspar team) and Simone Corsi , fifth with the Motobi of the JIR team.
Ratthapark Wilairot was also sixth in the top ten, followed by Julian Simon and Karel Abraham who, at Le Mans, left RSV Motor to race with Suter and FTR respectively.
Raffaele De Rosa recovers and moved to 15th position with the Tech 3, while Alex Baldolin is 17th, Mattia Pasini 22nd, Niccolò Canepa 26th ahead of Roberto Rolfo and Claudio Corti. World championship leader Toni Elias did poorly, even 20th.
