Moto2 Mugello, Free Practice 1: Zarco ahead of Corsi, Morbidelli is fifth
Sixth time for Lorenzo Baldassarri, riding the Forward Racing Kalex
Moto2 Italian GP Free Practice 1 – The reigning champion Johann Zarco was the fastest in the first free practice session of the Moto2 class at Mugello, scene of the Italian Grand Prix.
The French driver stopped the clock at a time of 1:53.592, 0.153s ahead of the Roman Simone Corsi, who was in the lead until a few seconds before the end of practice.
The Speed Up rider preceded in turn the British Sam Lowes and the German Jonas Folger, next rider of the Yamaha Tech 3 MotoGP Team.
Fifth and sixth times for VR46 Riders Academy riders Franco Morbidelli and Lorenzo Baldassarri. The two are separated from the summit by 0.839s and 0.969s respectively.
Closing out the Top Ten are the Swiss Thomas Luthi, the Belgian Xavier Simeon, the German Sandro Cortese and the Japanese Takaaki Nakagami.
Mattia Pasini riding the Kalex of Team Italtrans is sixteenth, Luca Marini (brother of Valentino Rossi) is twenty-first, while Federico Fuligni and Alessandro Tonucci close the ranking with the thirty-first and thirty-first times.
