The best of ours is Alex de Angelis, sixth with the Speed Up of Team NGM Mobile
The first free practice session of the Moto2 class at Mugello saw Takaaki Nakagami, rider of Team Italtrans, excel. The Japanese brought his Kalex ahead of everyone with a time of 1:54.877, a time 252 thousandths better than that set by the Belgian Xavier Simeon, riding the Kalex of Team Desguaces La Torre Maptaq.
Third time for Pol Espargarò, rider of Team Pons. The #40, 387 thousandths off the top, put his Kalex ahead of those of Scott Redding (Marc VDS Racing Team) and Esteve Rabat, his team-mate.
Good sixth time for Alex de Angelis, riding the Speed Up. The San Marino rider from Team NGM Mobile, who lapped in 1:55.756, put the Swiss Randy Krummenacher and the Frenchman Mike di Meglio behind him. Closing out the Top Ten are Thomas Luthi with the Suter of Team Interwetten Paddock and Dominique Aegerter with that of Team Technomag carXpert.
Mattia Pasini and Simone Corsi finished in eleventh and twenty-second position respectively, while the 2012 Moto3 champion Sandro Cortese was eighteenth.
