Scott Redding will be able to take part in the first free practice session of the Japanese Grand Prix. Good news for the British rider of the Marc VDS Racing Team who only six days ago at Phillip Island fractured the radius in his left arm.

The twenty-year-old had undergone surgery on Saturday evening in Melbourne where six screws had been applied. After four days of rehabilitation under the direction of the Mobile Clinic, the good news arrived. However, his condition will be re-evaluated after FP2 and only if further confirmation arrives will he be able to participate in the race. Let's remember that after missing the Australian GP Redding is 16 points behind the new world championship leader Pol Espargarò.

“After watching the Australian GP I was thinking of going home, there wasn't even a remote possibility of being able to drive in Japan. Only on the Sunday morning after the surgery did I understand that I would try to be on the track at Motegi. Dr. Andrew Oppy and his staff did a great job, and the recovery went exactly as planned. From Sunday morning onwards I worked to regain the movement and strength of my left hand and the medical staff at Motegi confirmed that I will be able to try. I will have a further evaluation after FP2, but I will immediately understand if it will be possible to race. If I participate in the race, the objective will be to keep the championship open until the final round in Valencia, when I will have more time to recover."
