Moto2 | KTM promotes Fernandez and welcomes Acosta to Moto3

Moto2 – After the victory at the European GP on the Valencia track and the podium, again on the same track, last week, KTM has decided to promote the young Raul Fernandez, born in 2000, to Moto2 and to welcome Pedro Acosta to the Moto3 team , fresh winner of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.

In his second season on a permanent basis in the cadet category, Raul Fernandez achieved 5 poles and three podiums. The Spaniard, winner of the CEV in 2018, will replace Jorge Martin in the Moto2 team, and will join Remy Gardner.

Pedro Acosta, winner of the 3 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, arrives in Moto2020 and will team up with the already announced Jaume Masia.

“It's incredible to receive this opportunity from Red Bull, KTM and Ajo Motorsport. I want to thank them all. For me, being in this team means being part of the best Moto3 team around. It will be my first year in the FIM World Championship, so we will have to wait for the first race to see where we are at and then set realistic goals. During the first half of the season we will have to focus our efforts on adapting to the workload as it will be different to what I am used to in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and the FIM CEV. I will do my best to make this learning process fruitful.”
