Moto2 | GP Qatar Qualifying: Marquez on pole, but Baldassarri and Bagnaia are there
First qualification in the intermediate category to be remembered for Romano Fenati, who will start from fifth place tomorrow
Moto2 GP Qatar Qualifying – Alex Marquez wins the first pole of the season for Moto2 on the Losail circuit, where the opening race of the 2018 MotoGP World Championship will take place on Sunday.
The Marc VDS team rider stopped the clock at 2:00.299, conquering the fourth pole in Moto2 and edging out around three tenths of a second from the first of his pursuers, Lorenzo Baldassarri (Hp Pons). Francesco Bagnaia (Sky VR46 Racing Team) completes the front row.
Tomorrow Miguel Oliveira (KTM Ajo) will start from fourth place, ahead of an incredible Romano Fenati and Danny Kent's first Speed Up.
Jorge Navarro opens the third row, followed by Mattia Pasini (ItalTrans) and Marcel Schrötter. The one returning to the category, Sam Lowes completes the top ten.
The Roman Simone Corsi will start from the 14th place, while Luca Marini, author of an excellent first half of the session, finished in the 17th place.
