The Australian recorded the best lap ahead of Garzo and Ramirez
Moto2 Portuguese GP Portimao Free Practice 3 – The Australian Remy Gardner set the best time of the third and final free practice session of the Moto2 class in Portimao, the scene of the last round of the 2020 MotoGP World Championship, which will be decisive to award the riders' title of the intermediate class.
The SAG Team driver stopped the clock on a time of 1:42.728, putting his Kalex ahead of Hector Garzo (Pons), Marcos Ramirez (American Racing) and Luca Marini (Sky Racing Team VR46).
Aron Canet on Team Aspar's Speed Up set the fifth fastest time ahead of Augusto Fernandez (Marc VDS), Enea Bastianini (Italtrans), Xavi Vierge (Petronas) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Speed Up).
Closing out the Top Ten is the stoic Sam Lowes, on the track with his right hand swollen after his fall in the Valencia tests. The British rider also crashed at the end of the session without obvious consequences.
Joe Roberts, Tetsuta Nagashima, Lorenzo Baldassarri and Jorge Navarro also directly access Q2. They will be forced to pass through Q1 among others: Marco Bezzecchi, Jorge Martin, Stefano Manzi, Nicolò Bulega, Lorenzo Dalla Porta and Simone Corsi.
