Moto2 | Gp Jerez Race: Baldassarri dominates, Bagnaia third and at the top of the world championship
On the podium Miguel Oliveira. Mattia Pasini in the top five
Moto2 GP Spain Race – Lorenzo Baldassarri wins the Moto2 class Jerez Grand Prix, fourth stage of the 2018 MotoGP.
The Pons HP team driver, taking his second career victory, dominated from the first lap after starting from pole, only giving the lead of the race by a few meters to Alex Marquez (Marc VdS). The Spaniard crashed, without consequences, a few laps later while fighting for third position.
On the second step of the podium was Miguel Oliveira, who with his KTM tried to keep up with the Italian's pace, only to give in at the end. Third was Francesco Bagnaia (SKY VR46 Racing Team), who maintains the lead in the world championship standings.
Fourth place for Xavi Vierge, followed by Mattia Pasini (ItalTrans) and Brad Binder (KTM). Behind the South African driver, Marcel Schrötter and Sam Lowes. Iker Lecuona and Fabio Quartararo complete the top ten.
Simone Corsi was out of the ten, finishing in twelfth position ahead of Andrea Locatelli (ItalTrans), fifteenth at the finish line.
Of note are the crashes of Luca Marini (SKY VR46 Racong Team), on the first lap, Stefano Manzi (Forward) and Romano Fenati (Marineli Snipers), fortunately all without consequences
